The left has failed us once again…
Today, I come to you with a heavy heart and disappointment. For the second year running, Democrats in the California legislature have voted down critical legislation aimed at addressing the escalating crisis of homelessness in our state.
Senate Bill 1011, introduced by Senate GOP leader Brian Jones and Democratic Sen. Catherine Blakespear, aimed to ban homeless encampments near schools, transit stops, and other sensitive areas. Yet, despite bipartisan efforts to tackle this pressing issue, the bill faltered in the Senate Public Safety Committee on a 1-3 vote.
I share the frustration voiced by Sen. Jones and countless Californians who believe in real solutions, not just throwing money at the problem. The knee-jerk opposition from the majority party members demonstrates a lack of willingness to engage with new approaches to combat homelessness effectively.
Moreover, it is disheartening to witness Sen. Scott Wiener and his Democratic colleagues prioritizing ideology over the safety and well-being of our communities. By voting against SB 1011, they have failed to acknowledge the urgent need for action.
Now, more than ever, my campaign needs your support to change the status quo and demand accountability from our elected officials. Your donation will enable us to continue our efforts to champion practical solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and ensure the safety and prosperity of all Californians.
Together, we can make a difference. Join us in our mission to create positive change and make District 11 a beacon of hope for our state.
Thank you for your support.
