Today, I am reaching out to you with a fierce determination to combat one of the most despicable crimes plaguing our society: child sex trafficking.
Recently, a California bill aimed at addressing this heinous issue took a step forward, but not without significant changes that weaken its impact. Despite bipartisan efforts to raise penalties for soliciting minors, Democrats on the Senate Public Safety Committee, including Scott Wiener, pushed through amendments that watered down the bill's effectiveness.
This is unacceptable.
We cannot stand idly by as politicians prioritize political agendas over the safety and well-being of our children. That's why I am calling on you to join the fight to hold predators accountable and protect our most vulnerable.
Your involvement is needed to push back against these harmful amendments and advocate for more robust measures to combat child sex trafficking. Together, we can ensure that those who exploit our children face the full force of the law.
